Allam kodi - ginger chicken
Allam Kodi (Ginger Chicken)
Ingredients
Cleaned chicken : ½ kilo
Ginger oil : 3 tbsp
I.
Cinnamon : 1 piece
Clove : 2
Cardamom : 2
II.
Cumin : 1 tsp
Mustard : 1 tsp
Black gram dal : 1 tsp
Dried red chilli : 3
Curry leaves : 2 stems
III. Grind to a paste
Onion ( big) : 2
Green chilli : 6
Ginger : 50 gm
IV.
Chilli powder : 1 tsp
Coriander powder : 1 tsp
Tomato puree : 50 gm
Sugar : 1tsp
Salt : 1½ tsp
Lime juice : 1 tbsp
Garam masala powder : 1tsp
To garnish
Onion cut into rings
Finely cut coriander leaves
Method
Ginger Chicken
Heat ginger oil in a frying pan.
Add cinnamon, clove, cardamom and fry.
Add the items listed in section II one by one and fry.
Add onion paste ground with ginger and green chilli.
Add the items listed in section IV, one by one at intervals, stir and fry.
Add chicken and fry.
Add garam masala powder and cover the pan with a lid.
The contents will be dry.
When the chicken is cooked soft, remove from stove and transfer to a serving dish.
Garnish with onion rings and coriander leaves.
This ginger chicken can be served with parotta, chappathi, naan and kulcha.
